It All Started With A Dream..

Hi there, and welcome to The Pumpkin Emporium, a shop of dreams for myself, Anita, and my daughter, Jordan. We began this shop in 2020, on Etsy - where the shop continues - but we decided to take the plunge into making our own website and expanding!

I was a hairstylist for 32 years; I often left home early and came home past 9pm, most times working half days on Saturday; I hardly got time to be with my family, much less to do anything creative, or to be outside, in the sun. When the Pandemic hit in 2020 and Jordan graduated from college, I was given a dream. In that dream, a blonde woman (myself) and a brunette (Jordan) opened a brick-and-mortar store. With that in mind, I began experimenting. Searching the web and my fabric stashes, Jordan and I opened an Etsy shop selling fabric pumpkins, since we adore Fall. The pumpkins did well, and were very sweet, but they weren't sustainable with the shipping costs.

I stumbled into making ornaments on accident, and fate took over. We acquired only the best cotton toile fabric (some vintage!) - a sturdy and timeless material - making heirloom ornaments that won't end up in a landfill. We've continuously dreamed and added to our repertoire, and hopefully will for long time!

Thanks to our beautiful shop, website, and most of all - you - I can work in my craft room, with a window looking out to our backyard, with my daughter beside me and my husband downstairs, all surrounded in sunlight.

Meet each member of The Pumpkin Emporium Staff:

Anita - The Owner, Maker, Blogger, Antiquer

Anita is the one who creates the crafts, picks the antiques, and writes the journal! She came up with the templates and stitches/pastes each by hand in her studio. She loves anything Halloween-y, Reese's Cups, and lemon balm tea.

Jordan - Customer Service, Marketer, Photographer

Jordan is the one who runs the site and takes all the photos! She graduated with her MFA in Creative Writing in 2023 and has just published her first book: Death's Ante. She loves Halloween, Cherry Diet Coke, and horror movies.
